Alan Hocking is married to Claire and has been a minister in the Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Northern Ireland for over 50 years.
He has extensive experience in the Media world having owned his own publishing company which produced a 30,000 circulation magazine funded by advertising and also produced church magazines for most of the local churches in the area.
He was religious programmes producer for BBC Radio Lancashire for many years and also worked with BBC Radio Leeds, Radio Pennine in Bradford, Red Rose Radio in Preston and several hospital radio stations. He also organised and ran three 28 day radio stations.
He was for many years a member of the Assemblies of God Broadcasting Council and produced and presented many of their radio and TV programmes. He also ran their in house TV stations at their Annual Conferences.
Latterly he set up and ran a TV production studio which produced programmes for the Christian Channels on satellite TV. They also produced commercials for some secular companies. He also trained people from local churches etc in production and camera techniques as well as helping some set up their own TV studios.
He is now retired and leads a more sedate life by the Sea Side in Lytham St Annes. He is available to help anyone who would like advice or help in any of these areas.

Welcome to How to Advertise Your Church.
The purpose of this web site is to give Ministers and leaders of churches and similar organisations ideas on how to advertise their church and get new people in. All the ideas here have been used in various churches that I have pastored over the past 50 or so years.
I have been lecturing in Bible Schools on this subject for many years and thought it was time I made the information available to a wider public. I hope to add to it from time to time so pop back now and again.
If you would like to have the pages on a CD I will gladly send you one. The cost is just £3.
If you have any good ideas that you have used, by all means let me have them. If they are suitable I will be glad to incorporate them into the site.
